It's also a good thing because keeping one's aesthetic harmony with trends this unconventional requires being on top of things.

The last few months have given us a chance to be prophetic, at least in terms of aesthetics. An over-the-shoulder examination of the styles that have lately been seen on the runways and in social media feeds offers a sneak preview of what is to come, allowing us to better plan our individual takes. Nevertheless, it's a good thing because preserving one's aesthetic equilibrium with trends this unconventional requires being on top of things.

Now listed below are the top nine beauty trends for 2023.

Y2K Continues

In 2023, the glistening, futuristic, and ever-so-slightly altered age known as Y2K will continue to rule through reflection, it's aesthetically modified as a study in a gentle yet playful palette.“I feel that the way the younger generation is reinterpreting the era is through its colors and textures: metallics, glitter, and an array of pastels you see reflecting off of a CD,” says Marcelo Gutierrez, a makeup artist who produced a collection of holiday looks with a Y2K theme for Vogue's seasonal fun.

In 2023, the skin will be lit. Applying washes of radiance with care will give clean, well-groomed complexions an extraordinary shine that feels more like the main effect than a brightening afterthought. For more reference, check out Gucci's spring 2023 runway and the "Old Hollywood Flash" highlighter that accompanied it for an exquisite illustration. Thomas De Kluyver, a makeup artist, created the highlighter to resemble the effects of vintage flash photography.

Lots of Liner

There has been a lot of innovation in eyeliner application. Extended cat flicks are undoubtedly here to stay, but eyeliner will continue to draw attention in the new year, whether it's drawn heavily and finished with unusual detail, like Peter Philips's crisscross liner for Dior, or freely at the outside corners, like the siren eyes trend on TikTok. Excessive liner is consistent with the romantic goth and grunge sleaze revival that is now sweeping social media. Also, experts claim that new technologies are assisting in making liner simple to apply and challenging to remove once the ideal effect is reached.

Skincare as Makeup

The new makeup is a natural complexion. Tata Harper's masks and treatments were included in the spring 2023 collections of both Khaite and Gabriela Hearst, while Proenza Schouler and Brandon Maxwell emphasized minimal makeup that allowed for the prominence of fresh skin. At Fendi and Altuzarra, highlighter and brushstrokes of bronzer or blush were used to sculpt and define the skin's appearance, and glossy lips completed the looks. In every instance, the lesson was obvious: A well-honed skin-care routine cannot be substituted.

Polished Manicures

Despite the abundance of gems, glitter, and other embellishments, a gorgeous, polished manicure will still be the pinnacle of 2023's nail trends. There is nothing worse than a gorgeous color squandered on ungroomed nails, according to Tom Bachik, the nail technician behind Jennifer Lopez's cult-favorite manicures“Focus on proper prep before ever reaching for the polish,” he says.

Straight Brows

The straight brow trend has recently gained popularity, but not just because it looks chic. Rather, TikTokers report feeling much more lifted in their face, leading them to believe that their eyes were previously drooping due to the tail of the brow. Essentially if you want an instant facelift without having to pay thousands for botox or surgeries -- try straightening your brows! Although brow expert Joe Healy suggests testing out the trend with makeup first. "Try to use a highlighter, like the Joey Healy High Rise Brow Concealer, under the brow arch, because that will make the brow tail look higher, help you with the straight look, and could give you some lift without removing hair," Healy says.

The Takeaway

Trends are always changing but the major takeaway of the beauty trends of 2023 is that they, in fact, embrace our more natural beauty and that is why we are loving it! Make a statement with your natural beauty this 2023!
